My story

When I was a young tyke I knew immediately that I wanted to be an artist. And more importantly that I wanted to run my own business. From elementary school straight through high school I was always finding ways to channel my creativity, and sell it to my friends and family. This is when Adornments by Addrienne was created. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I knew why I wanted to be my own boss.

Art has always been my passion. I have always dabbled in many different fields, as my love for art has no bounds. At 25 while stationed in Germany, I had two little ladies and a husband deployed. I desperately needed something to occupy my time. I remembered how much I enjoyed learning how to sew in my home economics class in high school, and so I hopped online and bought a sewing machine. ( Just kidding I did several months of research lol ) I discovered an awesome little machine called the Brother SE 400. I had no clue that you could embroider at home. So I snatched that little guy up and waited the 3 months for it to arrive. Once it came in I was hooked and have never looked back. I started reading lots of blogs, and watching videos, and joining forums. Then I discovered facebook groups. Which is when I then discovered digitizing! You mean to tell me you can turn your own artwork into embroidery designs?? Does this mean I can share my art with everyone? To say I was excited would be an understatement. Another digitizer was kind enough to teach me the ropes, and my wonderful mother was kind enough to fund the business adventure.

I started DreamCatcher Designs in September 2013. Many have always asked me where I got the name. DreamCatchers have always been important to me and I have many fond memories making them while growing up. I have a small Native American heritage and those have always been the connection for me as this heritage is very important to me. Soon DreamCatcher Designs was taking up all of my time and I started to close up the finished products business. The company started to grow well past my expertise and I was given the opportunity to go back to college and finish my degree. I decided to switch to a Graphic Design degree instead of finish the fine arts. I soon discovered just how much I loved Graphic Design and all aspects of it. This opened an entire doorway of possibilities for me! I hope to always expand further and eventually grow into a brick and mortar business.

Which has led me to rebranding with a name change. While hesitant to scare off DreamCatcher Design fans I needed a way to encompass all of the many creative and artsy things that I do. After lots of brainstorming my mother and I came up with the name The Creative Frenzy. I hope you all enjoy this direction my company has taken and I look forward to taking this journey with all of you!
